Park View Inn Gatlinburg DowntownGatlinburg is a great tourist town, but it can be difficult to find a great hotel to stay in. With that being said, we have decided to provide insights to each of the hotels in Gatlinburg. In this installment we are talking about the Park View Inn Gatlinburg Downtown and going to review this hotel. Overall, we are hoping that you are enjoying the series on the Gatlinburg hotels that we have as we have definitely enjoyed reviewing them all for you. Without any further ado, lets start the review of the Park View Inn.

What We Liked

The main feature we liked about this Gatlinburg hotel is how easy it is to get to most of the attractions in Gatlinburg.  While most of the hotels are easy to reach the attractions, this location is a little over three tenths of a mile walk to the aquarium, which is almost in the middle of town. In fact, this is a location we often take and use the Gatlinburg aquarium for our reference point for the directions.

Something else that we like it the seasonal pool that is available in the hotel. The pool is outdoors, but it is a nice pool that can be used to help keep you and your kids entertained if it is warm enough once you have gotten out of the mountains.

What We Do Not Like

The location is older and does appear to be dated. However, the staff did  say they were going to undergo a renovation soon. So this could be very helpful for the location as they are in need of the renovation and once this is done, it could be easy to see the location as a premier stop for staying in Gatlinburg and having a great vacation.

I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to my worst enemy. Let me start from beginning, checked into room, tv didn’t work, called front desk for over an hour, no answer. Went to office, desk clerk said she was sorry, was setting 20’ away playing games and didn’t hear phone ringing. Told her about tv, said she would send maintenance right up, 4 hrs later I demanded a new room, new girl at front desk, she moved us to another room. I’ve machine not working, vending machine was empty, etc etc. Went to breakfast bar, it was so so, had to wait till employees made their own breakfast for themselves and their kids hiding in back room. I would never stay here again even if the location is nice. I wouldn’t stay here if it was free!!!!
