In Gatlinburg you know you will have several stops that are a must make. One of those is the Gatlinburg Scenic Overlook. The issue is so many people stop that they are not even sure why they are stopping here outside of the fact that everyone else is pulled off to the side of the road so something must be going on to make it a trip for them to remember. Now, I do not know for everyone, but for my family and I, this is going to be an article that is going to cover some of the reasons why we stop here each time we are in Gatlinburg, but also this will help you in making it easier for you to know why you should be stopping here instead of the other places that you could be stopping at.
The Views You Get From Gatlinburg Scenic Overlook
Now the scenic overlook is one that has some of the most amazing views you could ever imagine of Gatlinburg and the natural beauty of the region as well. What else is nice is this is a place that is going to have some of the best pull offs that you can use and this is going to allow you to have a chance to get out and walk around the region, but also be able to take in the views that are amazing that are here without having to worry about being rear ended. So this is going to be something that you are going to want to know about because that will make it easier for you to have a good time of enjoying the beauty.
Why else we take the by pass and the scenic overlook is the traffic usually is quite a bit less than if you were going into Gatlinburg itself to get to the other end of town. Now you will notice that we said it depends on the time of the day that you are in Gatlinburg and that is because we have found if you are going to the bypass at some of the busier times you will have some trouble in getting around because it may be crowded and sometimes the people who are on the road may not know the area as well as you do, which means they may make sudden stops and bat turns out of nowhere.
What We Did Not Like
The one thing that we did not like about the Gatlinburg Scenic Overlook and By-Pass is the fact that it can get crowded at times and this type of traffic is what you would expect to see in the town. So you may find that this is going to take a little bit of time to get around, but this is going to well worth it because of where you are going to go and what you can see. However, you do need to keep this in mind if you want to avoid the headache that you are going to want to avoid with traffic.
Our Final Thoughts On The Gatlinburg Scenic Overlook
This is a stop that we love to make and will continue to make. However, you will find this is a place that you will want to take into consideration because of the beauty that you get from the trip. Not to mention if you go up here early enough in the morning you can have some amazing views of Gatliburg by yourself without having to deal with the headache of traffic or other people while you sit drinking your coffee and eating your doughnut from the Donut Friar while watching the sun come up in the morning.
