Ole Smoky Moonshine

Traveling to Gatlinburg during the time of COVID was definitely different to a point. The town seemed to be missing something. Gatlinburg, the ever popular vacation destination is known for being family friendly, but also the easy access to the Great Smoky Mountains Nationals Park. Well, one thing that Gatlinburg was also known for is the rich musical history. In fact, it is rumored that the song Rocky Top was written at the HIstoric Gatlinburg Inn. Well, the other aspect that Gatlinburg was known for when it comes to music is live music with people milling about the stage and listening to music ranging from rock to blue grass.

During COVID the live music had to be shut down to help guarantee that the social distancing was properly in place. However, that took a lot of rich tradition out of the town. Well, starting this past week, the Ole Smoky Distillery has brought back the live music.

The first band to hit the stage was Midnight Run, but it was over a year since the last live music was heard in the town. Now, with the vaccination and a lot of the rules being relaxed it seems that the live music is coming back.

While it is possible to hear the live music it will vary on the group that is going to be playing at the Ole Smoky Distillery and the music is only being played in the evening. So will this be worth the time in going to see the music?

The short answer is yes, it will definitely be worth the time stopping in at Ole Smoky Distillery to see and hear the live music. What else the live music will add is a completely new element that has been missing and definitely amps up the atmosphere in town. After all, when the mountains are calling we must go. The most important thing is to make sure you are safe in your travels and have a great time while you are traveling to the Gatlinburg area.
