When you are looking for a hotel that is in Gatlinburg and close to the middle of everything, you will want to consider the Edgewater hotel. While this may not be the top rated hotel in Gatlinburg, it is also not the most expensive either. So you will want to make sure you know this location is close to everything and will provide you with the adventure you want to have. I know that the location claims to be in a five minute walk of everything and it is something that does seem plausible as they are located in the downtown region and if you walk quickly anything can be reached in no time flat. However, if you are not a fast walker it may take you a little bit longer. The downside is this is a location that with the outside reminds me more of the modern apartment buildings, but if you can overlook this aspect of the location it can easily be one of the best places for you to travel to and stay at if you want to be close to everything that is going on in town.

To reach this location you will need to turn right on River Road. When you do this, it is going to take and run you to the hotel which is going to be on the right hand side of the road. So this is going to make it quite a bit easier than what you think to locate the hotel.

What We Like About The Edgewater
The best part that we have found about the Edgewater Hotel is the fact that it is literally on the edge of the water. The river is going to run next to the hotel and this is going to allow you to have a chance to go out and enjoy the hotel, but also know that you are going to have a great time because it allows you to have something that can easily put you to sleep at night if you want to sleep with the balcony door slightly open.
Speaking of the balconies if you have a chance to get a room on the river side you will be able to enjoy waking up and sitting on the balcony. When you think about this, you will notice it is going to have a great view, but allows you to wake up and sit on the balcony enjoying your coffee while watching the ducks and even fish, if your eyes are good, swimming around in the creek.
When you are looking at the Edgewater Hotel you will have a chance to go out and easily reach the main drag of town. This is going to make it easier for you to have a great trip because you can easily get into town and not have to worry about paying for the parking that is very expensive when you are in the town itself. So this is definitely going to be one of the best features as well.
Depending on what time you get up and if you want to avoid going to breakfast in town, you will like the continental breakfast that is served. When you have a chance to get this breakfast, it will make it easier for you to have a great meal and know that you are going to enjoy the meal and have the energy to get out in the morning and explore the mountains before the rest of the world wakes up.

What We Do Not Like About Edgewater Hotel
Now, I know that we have talked about the balcony before and really like it. However, we do have a complaint about the balcony as well and that is the fact this is a little bit small compared to what we are used to seeing. Since this is smaller, it will make it a challenge for you to get the space you want to have, but it does have a nice view and that can easily make up for the lack of space.
Something else that was a little bit hard to swallow was the parking garage. Yes, it is a garage, but at the same time the garage is very small. This makes it difficult for you to find a parking space and often you will notice some of the cars in the garage have to take up a couple of spots just to make sure they are going to be able to stay in the spot.
