Chimneys picnic area is located off of 441. This is sometimes referred to as Newfound Gap Road. The best part is this picnic area is not far off the road and this makes it easier for you to get to the region and know you can finally have a beautiful picnic in the mountains.

What Kind Of Amenities Are Located At Chimneys Picnic Area

Well, this is going to be an easy question for you to get answered and that is the fact that it has a beautiful area that is in the middle of the mountains. The main amenity that you are going to love is the ease of finding a parking space when you are here. You just have to park and you can see your picnic tables as they are located very close to the parking lot.

When you are in the picnic area you will enjoy the fact that their is a beautiful stream that runs by the area. If you have little kids you will need to keep a close eye on them because of the stream. However, you are sure to enjoy the area because of the beautiful rocks that are in the middle of the creek as well. A lot of times you will find some kids jumping back and forth in the rocks to playing in the stream.

Grills are available at the picnic tables as well if you want to cook your own food. If you do not want to use the grills it is easy for you to bring your own food you can do that as well. However, if you are bringing your own premade food you need to remember the lack of electricity means no microwaves are available.

Our Final Thoughts On Chimney Tops Picnic Area

When you want to go on a camping trip, but do not want to stay in the campground a picnic may be a good substitute. However, with all the picnic areas around the Great Smoky Mountains National Park it is going to be very difficult to narrow down which place to go to. We have to admit Chimney Tops picnic area is a great place that makes a great picnic area. With the easy access to the picnic tables and the plentiful parking areas, it will be easy to see why. Throw in the great creek and it is going to be very easy to see this is a beautiful area to have a picnic at and enjoy your family and time together.

      At the time yes. We put in a stock image as a spot holder so we would remember to change the pictures out and forgot!
